We hope you enjoy our web-site. It is full of fascinating pages and pictures about life at St. John's and includes interesting events for the rest of the term!

In October 2006 we held an AFRICA WEEK to celebrate our link with APARANGA SCHOOL in Gulu, Northern Uganda.

The School has 284 pupils, both girls and boys aged between six and thirteen years. Their Headteacher is Mr. Okot.

They would love to have some money to spend on educational materials, including books and their lives would be changed if they could have a water source installed near their school.

During Africa Week Rabbits Class looked at the book 'Handa's Surprise' and investigated the qualities of tropical fruits.

Fox Class children made a big book and a huge african collage as well as african safari maps.

We welcomed Jan Lyons from Stagecoach who supervised drama workshops based on the theme of an 'african safari'.

We also had a visit from Inspire Works who gave us some inspiring african drumming workshops.

In 2006 we held a sponsored event for AFRICAN REVIVAL to help Africans help themselves. We raised over £800 for Aparanga School.

The children carried buckets of water for up to ten laps around the playground. This highlighted the fact to them that the african children often have to walk for many miles to obtain water.

In 2009 we are holding a sponsored fitness event and combining this with a virtual inter-schools competition with other schools in our Confederation.

WE RAISED THE GRAND AMOUNT OF £595 AND HAVE SENT THIS OFF TO THE SCHOOL FOR MUCH NEEDED EQUIPMENT.

Many thanks to all the parents, friends and relations who sponsored the children at St. John's.
